Oak Cased Victorian Weather Station
Large oak weather station by I P Cutts, Sutton & Sons Sheffield (1804-1895) containing high quality chain fusee 8 day clock, min-max thermometer and a recording drum barograph. The clock as well as telling the time drives the recording drum and moves the lead marker to make a mark on the paper every hour. The silvered 7” diameter dial has conventional hour and minute hands with inset seconds at 12 ‘o’ clock and is signed I P Cutts Sutton & Sons Sheffield. The matching barometer dial is marked from Stormy through to Set Fair and has an outer scale showing inches of pressure.
A perfect addition to an office and in full working order with a quantity of spare papers.
